At Taz's Excursions, we are proud to be a service-disabled veteran-owned business located in the beautiful Shalimar, FL community. Our owner and operator, US Army Retired MSG Johnny Mulford, brings his dedication, discipline, and attention to detail to every charter excursion we provide. Whether you're looking for an exciting fish trip, diving charter, spearfishing, exciting day at crab island or a relaxing sunset cruise with dinner at AJ's on the Bayou we guarantee an unforgettable experience

The Fleet

Welcome to Taz's Excursions fleet, where we provide some of the finest boats available for your charter. Our fleet is made up of luxurious vessels that are perfect for relaxing and entertaining, whether you're looking to fish, dive, or just cruise.

The Chester is a 29ft Pro Kat featuring 2 new Yamaha 250s, new marine deck flooring, a new trolling motor, a dive ladder, a private latrine, and an inside cabin. Our boat is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy a day on the water, whether you're looking for a relaxing excursion or an action-packed fishing trip or a spectacular dive trip.

Kit, our 24 ft Donzi boat, is equipped with everything you need for a fantastic day at crab island, a dolphin cruise, or a sunset dinner cruise. Get ready to create memories that will last a lifetime!

Johnny Mulford

Johnny, originally from Wiggins, MS entered the US Marine Corps right out of High School and after completing his initial tour joined the US Army where he served for over 20 years. He served as a Team Leader in the United States Army Parachute Team “Golden Knights” and served with the 3rd and 7th Special Forces Groups in Iraq and Afghanistan and retired from the 7th SFG after returning from his 3rd deployment to Afghanistan in 2006. Johnny served as a Security Agent with a Government Agency overseas from 2008 until moving to Florida to pursue His dream of Fishing and diving in the panhandle of Florida. He and His wife Angela of over 38 years moved to Florida and started Taz’s Excursions. Johnny is an avid fisherman being fishing most of his life, is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer as well as having 100 Ton Master Captains license.

Angela Mulford

Angela Mulford, originally from Enterprise, Al is a retired Orthodontic
assistant. She is currently a First Mate and scheduler at Taz’s Excursions, Angela is also an avid fisher and a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. She and Johnny have
been married for over 38 years.

Rob "Trucker" Albert

Rob is originally from Maine and is an over-the-road truck driver when he's not fishing. Rob has been fishing his entire life and when not on the Gulf He's in the Bay fishing. Rob moved to the Emerald Coast 10 years ago and is on the water fishing 5-7 days a week and loves to share his knowledge and fishing experience with all ages. Rob has been working as a Mate and dive guide for Taz's Excursions from the beginning and brings tons of knowledge with him and is very passionate about his job!!

Ben Pressler

Ben served with the 7TH Special Forces Group where he deployed to numerous Latin American countries as well as tours in Afghanistan. He moved to the panhandle in 2011 and immediately got hooked on offshore fishing. He bought a boat and honed his knowledge and skills. He got his captain’s license and started chartering in 2015. He is a two-time runner-up Captain of the Year in the Destin Fishing Rodeo.
